Be a 4 year member of the Cross Country Team
Be a member of the final 7 CIF Championship Team

Team Expectations
While we do not make cuts on our team, runners are expected to show up every day and bring a respectful attitude or they will be asked to leave.
The only gear required is a good pair of running shoes, a watch to track pace, and a heart rate monitor.
The fee for returning runners is $185 and $260 for new runners (includes uniform for 4 years). Payment is due in August. Please bring checks made out to "Saints" to Coach.
Varsity vs. JV
Unlike other sports, we do not set a varsity roster on day 1 that is set in stone.
Each week, the top 7 will practice with Coach Yoakum, 8-14 will work with Coach Pradel and JV will work with Coaches Brophy & Okuley.
One of the things that we all love about XC is that there is a place for everyone and each race is an opportunity to improve your own PR.
Meets/ Scoring
Basic Scoring
In XC, the team with the lowest score wins.
Races are scored by assigning a point value for the place a runner finishes in. If a runner finishes first, he will earn 1 point.
The top 5 runners "score" for the team. 6/7 also receive a score (that does not go into the team score). Their points can be valuable since they may increase the score of an opposing team by placing in front of that team’s top five runners.
Invitationals (Invite)
These are larger meets that we bring our team to.
Some invites are scored by team and others are split by grade level so we will not have 5 runners per race. These are opportunities for runners to work on PRs (personal records).
League Meets
We are in the Eastern League
2 of our League Meets will be scoring meets for Varsity (listed as "all" below)
While all varsity teams run together, we score as dual meets.
We will score against 3 teams during the 1st & the other 3 teams in the 2nd.
The JV races will be opportunities for runners to improve their PRs.
CIF
The top 7 runners will run for Saints at CIF
We compete in D3 (determined by school size).
We will score as a team and the top 3 teams advance to the State Meet.
Communications
Parents: Nicole Yoakum (nicole@goldenanchorplanning) will send weekly Newsletters to parents via email and will be your main POC for any questions.
Runners: All runners should be on Remind as Coaches will send communications there. Their specific Coach (Yoakum, Pradel or Brophy/Okuley) are their main POC.
